Canterbury Freshers’ Week Guide
This guide should have all the information that students could need to get you prepared for freshers’ week in Canterbury. Canterbury is a historic town with lots of culture, but it also has very vibrant nightlife and a massive student community. There will be so many social events and nights out during Freshers and it might be hard to keep up with everything. So, we have created this guide to keep students coming to Canterbury up to speed.
Join a Campus Tour
Join a campus tour to get used to the area or learn about the services that your university can offer such as career advice, tutoring and health support.
Join a Society
Learn about the University societies and sports teams. Societies are basically clubs, and they are a great way to meet other students who have similar interests to you. Societies include sports clubs, faith organisations, political groups, performing arts groups or fan clubs like the Harry Potter society.
Go to Social Events
There will be plenty of social events throughout the whole week so students can get to know each other. There is normally a fresher fair for all the societies and other student related organisations, day trips to local attractions, movie nights and of course partying and club nights.
Get to Know Canterbury
It is a great idea to take a wonder around the historic city of Canterbury so you have a good sense of direction. It would be useful to know how to get to your local supermarkets, transport links or even finding your favourite coffee shop.
